Microsoft – ‘kuando Busylight helps our employees control their time’

Microsoft’s new headquarters in Denmark, home to 850 employees from Microsoft Denmark and the Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, has been designed as a “workplace of the future.” The entire workforce shares an open office setup with just 309 workstations and 230 meeting rooms.

In such an environment, minimising interruptions was a clear priority. Thomas Schnegelsberg, Director of Microsoft Customer & Partner Experience, quickly recognized the need for a solution.

“The reason we introduced Busylight in our new office is because we work in an open space, and it’s essential to help employees cut down on daily interruptions. It enables people to respect each other’s time,” he explains.

“Employees have embraced the solution because it gives them control over their time and the way they work,” Schnegelsberg adds.

For Niels Kjelstrup, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft, the biggest benefit is how Busylight boosts adoption of Skype for Business.

“Busylight is a great example of hardware that strengthens user adoption of Skype for Business. It provides a clear, physical signal of availability, so it’s easy to see who’s online. Plus, it alerts you to incoming calls or instant messages,” he says.
